Pequena reflexão sobre um símbolo

Muitos usaram apenas pela modinha.
Alguns pela massificação da mídia.
Outros souberam dar o devido valor
porque viveram a situação
e ficaram imersos na dura realidade...
passando pelo drama
ou acompanhando quem o viveu!
Ah, e os covardes?
Fugiram e deixaram pessoas queridas
na mão e sozinhas,
perdidas a sua própria sorte.
Quanto sentimento por trás de um símbolo!

Nenhuma rua é igual a outra

Nenhuma rua é igual a outra.
Cada uma tem os seus detalhes.
Cada detalhe faz a diferença.
A diferença é o que de fato importa.

Textos para a Prova de Inglês - 1º Médio

Texto 1
What would life be like without the Internet?

How would having no Internet affect the general personal user? Well apart from every teenager screaming because they can’t log on to Facebook, it all comes down to how much we personally use the Internet and what for.
Many of us use the Internet to communicate, especially those in the lower age brackets above 10 years. From email to chat forums, social networks, dating sites and even virtual worlds our demands on the Internet for social communication and networking are huge. So it’s easy to anticipate that a life without the Internet would force people to turn back to grass roots and socialize and communicate on a very basic level.
My worry with this though, specifically within the lower age brackets is will the people who’ve grown up with the Internet around them be able to embrace social engagement on a grass roots level and know how to socialize?
We use the Internet to communicate more than ever and it’s become an integral part of any standard means of communication. So with no Internet our means of communication would have to adapt. I very much doubt we’ll be sending smoke signals, but letters would fulfill the whole emails left and phones would fulfill the gaps that instant messaging, chat and social media created.
An increase in posted mail and phone calls would surely benefit our local postal services and telephone network providers, but what we loved about the Internet was that communication was free!
We all know the Internet is a massive resource directory, full of useful and useless information,  all beautifully at our finger tips. So without it where would we find out the chemical compound of silver, or the world record time for eating after eights?
Books! Quite simply, we’d resort back to the old school principle of reading books from libraries. It would definitely be harder finding the equivalent information that the Internet can provide in your local library but if you think about it the Internet basically took the concept of a library and expanded it by about a million times!
Above all we have to remember we got to where we are today without the Internet. The Internet was a technological advancement that excelled us into the 21st century and changed the way we socialized, did business and purchased goods.
It paved the way to the future and still has many exciting advancements ahead of itself. Witnessing the loss of the Internet is probably very unlikely, but either way I’m quite sure as a human race we’d adapt and persevere as we have done for thousands of years.

Texto 2
The term "urban" means "from the city", which is derived from the Latin word urbanus. It is associated with art that is created by artist living, depicting, or experiencing city life. The subject is often people living city life and also city buildings and transportation. Urban Art in its rawest form is graffiti. The term graffiti comes from the Italian word graffio which means "to scratch". Graffiti is associated with gang related tagging of territory and a means of gaining attention but it is also associated with humans need to express themselves. Some of the earliest forms of graffiti are the tribal inscriptions of early man on stone hence, the definition "to scratch". One of my favorite pieces of Urban Artwork is a piece that was done by the African American artist, Ernie Barnes.

Medical Jokes - Texto para a Prova de Inglês - 2º Médio

Medical Jokes
A man goes to his doctor and says: "I don't think my wife is hearing as good as it used to be. What should I do?
The doctor replies: "Try this test to find out for sure. When your wife is in the kitchen doing dishes, stand fifteen feet behind her and ask her a question, if she doesn't respond keep moving closer asking the question until she hears you."

The man goes home and sees his wife preparing dinner. He stands fifteen feet behind her and says: "What's for dinner, honey?" He gets no response, so he moves to ten feet behind her, and ask again. Still no answer. Finally he stands directly behind her and says: "Honey, what's for dinner?" She replies: "For the fourth time: I SAID CHICKEN."

Viva la Vida! - Texto para a Prova de Inglês - 3º Médio

VIVA LA VIDA (Martin, C. - Coldplay)

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listened as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead long live the king
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you'd gone there was never
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

It was a wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become
Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string

Oh who would ever want to be king?

Feliz Dia do Professor
